One thing I could try, is to see if the Linux version of the PICKit2 Command Line software detects the hardware on my Fedora 9 install (which is on a dual-boot system on the same laptop). Since windows seems to be detecting the presence of a "PICkit 2 Microcontroller Programmer", I am kind of inclined to believe it may be something to do with my Windows installation. Is there some way of probably uninstalling and reinstalling the Windows USB drivers? Or do you think it would make a difference if I were to install Windows XP SP3? would there be something else I could try? I don't have access to a USB Hub.
